Family Medicine - Peru Program

The Departments of Family Medicine and Internal Medicine participated in a 2 week trip on the Amazon river of Peru during February 2001. Dr. S. Nolan and Dr. Tom Forks and the other team members treated approximately 1100 patients at selected villages along the river. Many diverse tropical diseases were encountered, including an interesting case of tropical myositis. Overall, it was a very interesting and informative trip in an area greatly in need of medical personnell.
